Also, the committee and its supporters should stop talking about "de-amalgamation" because:
1. It's a negative, and people don't like to support negative concepts.
2. It's a legal term, and it means nothing to non-lawyers.
3. Using it gives more power to your opponents, and allows them to brand you as "whiners" who "don't understand" the "complex legal issues."
Instead, try talking about your goals in more positive terms that speak to the heart, such as "bringing our municipal government home." Often, it's not what you say, it's how you say it that determines your success.
I want to see a picture of the county BEFORE amalgamation, so we can compare them!
